Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39 NIV
My cousin, Christopher, 25 went home to be with Jesus Monday August 1. While in the hospital praying and waiting for the suffering to end and for God to intervene, before Romans 8:35-39 was brought to my attention by God’s Spirit to share with my Uncle and God’s so good. The next day a preacher and friend of the family was waiting on God to tell him when to come to the hospital and what to do and say. He shared the very same scripture and prayed so loud the entire ICU waiting room could hear. We were holding hands, trusting, believing, and worshipping God in the middle of our pain. He also reminded me that He knows the pain of loosing a son. Thank God Jesus was obedient to His Father taking up the Cross, so we can have eternal life and be free.
Loosing my cousin in this way has been traumatic to my family and we don’t understand and that’s OK, but his life and his death has brought so many people into a relationship with and closer to Jesus and certainly opened my eyes, heart to love and not judge because you never truly know what someone is going through. God does, we can rest assure of that. I want to love the way Jesus loves, looking at the heart. I could go on and on with the stories while in the hospital of different missions God accomplished by using us and my cousins journey.
The last conversation I had with my cousin was on my Grandparents front porch, months ago with my Husband. I knew he was young and struggling and I felt led to talk with him about Jesus, he confessed with his mouth who his Lord and Savior is with bold confidence. That was peace for us, because God knew this would happen. We don’t have to understand, it’s not our job. God I will leave that to you and trust you. Lord I know you are healing my family and bringing them closer to you through this, my dependence of you has increased, thank you for more of you and less of me. God carry his Mom, Dad, Sisters, and the rest of us as I know you will. I praise you God!
Lord thank you for the time we did have here with Christopher, for the fun childhood memories that I’ll never forget.
Christopher, I love you and know you are at peace, pain free, fight free, rejoicing in heaven with the Father forever. Thank you Lord for saving my cousin and choosing him. Thank you Jesus that I will get to be with you forever and see my cousin again.
Good morning to all and hoping and praying I and we are all thankful in the wait of the Lord. Let’s not rush the wait, for these times are the sweetest, most precious, closest I feel to you Father of grace. May not feel easy, but oh so necessary to grow in my relationship with you. Thank you Jesus for the best gift of all, the love and communion with the Father. The world can’t even compare with this Holy love, peace, confidence, joy, light, forgiveness, mercy, and acceptance into the Kingdom.
I’m learning God’s timing is perfect and His ways don’t have to make sense to us. Thank you for this peace in my mind and heart, Lord in this time of sorrow and suffering, I know joy comes in the morning and I know today is the day you have made, so I WILL rejoice and be glad in the breath and life you have given to me to fulfill your purpose. Lord Jesus thank you that you are THE ONLY hope we have.
God I lift up this young generation to you and ask for many hearts to turn to you, for you to be the rock of their lives and the guidance and shelter of light in such a dark world. God I pray for this generation to rise up in a bold, might way, and to live radically for you, something that doesn’t make sense to the world but catches many eyes. Thank you that we are set apart yet not alone. Holy Spirit we welcome you to cover our families, nation, and youth. In Jesus Name.
And…..God I am in awe of you as I’m typing this a beautiful humming bird flies up in a gentle way, reminding me to be gentle with others and myself showing the endless love you pour out to us. Help me to always be open to your love and with sharing where my hope comes from. Thank you for your word that is our food, that nourishes our soul and refreshes our spirit and renews our minds. You simply are amazing.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
